Project Overview
Honoring The Women Before Me
Every holiday card tells a story, but this project was deeply personal. Rather than focusing on fantasy or nostalgia, The Royal Legacy was created as a tribute to the two women who helped shape who I am today: my mother and my Mémé.
Through photography, compositing, and symbolism, the final design places three generations together in a single portrait. The crown represents more than royalty—it symbolizes wisdom, resilience, sacrifice, and the values passed from one generation to the next.
While my mother is no longer here physically, her influence remains woven into every chapter of my life. Alongside my Mémé, their presence serves as a reminder that legacy is not measured by titles or possessions, but by the love, strength, and guidance we leave behind for those who follow.
Character Development
The Women Behind The Crown
To create a portrait that felt timeless, I used AI-generated imagery to reimagine both my mother and Mémé within the visual world of the card. These portraits helped bridge memory, imagination, and storytelling, allowing three generations to exist together within a single scene.
Visual Development
Building The Kingdom
Every environment begins with a foundation. For The Royal Legacy, a rich royal-blue palette, snowy landscapes, and layered winter forests established the atmosphere of the piece. These elements helped transform individual portraits into a unified holiday tableau inspired by royalty, memory, and winter magic.
Final Design
The Royal Legacy
The finished card brings together memory, family, and imagination into a single portrait. Positioned between my mother and grandmother, the composition symbolizes the generations that came before me and the legacy they continue to carry forward through me. More than a holiday card, it became a tribute to family, resilience, and the people who helped shape my story.
